Season Ending Recognition & Pizza

The weather prevented our Team from using the Pool for our season ending recognition and pizza party so we all congregated in the Wall Room at Dick Gym.  The Team finished 4-2 with 3 cancelled matches.  All of our boys improved their tennis skills this season and it was a privilege to coach such fine young men.  Our guys truly represented Woodberry with class and character this season.

Ward, Will, and Michael.  Ward received Team MVP as he went undefeated this year in his matches.  Will received Most Improved for the season, and Michael received most improved from last year.

Team Wins 6-3 to finish 4-2

We were finally able to get a match in this week as the rain held off against Jefferson County.  We had to cancel two matches this week because of rain. Our boys played well on Saturday as we played our first three singles matches inside.  When the sun popped out we moved the remaining contests over to our JV courts and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Holden King got off to a slow start but came back strong and won his singles match.  Michael Deng at #3 had no problem winning his singles match going away, as did Will Keller, who has really improved his game.  Ward Bissell and Mason Roberts won their singles matches in good form.  Ward is undefeated this year.  Ward and Will teamed up to win their doubles match in impressive style.  Cartter Crosland and Guillermo Castille won their singles matches.

Team and coaches will play an intrasquad tournament this week, and enjoy an afternoon pool party the following week to end the 2016 season.
