Final Match of the Season

The Team welcomed St. Anne's - Belfield yesterday in a fun match that was enjoyed by everyone.  Both teams played well on a calm day that was perfect for tennis.  Our Team won and everyone was able to play.  We have been fortunate this year to have the ability to play all 16 boys in many of our matches due to our array of courts and away Teams willing to bring 12 players.  We finished the season 6-3.

We will cap our season off by completing our Team Doubles Tournament and having a pizza picnic and awards ceremony.

Henry Atkins displaying good forehand preparation and good forehand grip.  Henry came on late in the season to play very good tennis at the #2 singles position achieving a 6-3 record.

Woodberry vs. Trinity Episcopal

The Woodberry students should be very grateful to have the indoor Barbee Center that offers 3 Tennis Courts as one of the multiplex options.  It came in handy yesterday as the rains came and we moved our matches inside.  Our Team won 7-0 yesterday which gives us a 5-3 record going into our last match against St. Anne's Belfield on Friday.  The match again will be played on the courts across from the dorms.

Woodberry vs. Jefferson School

The Team played well yesterday against a young energetic Jefferson Team.  All of our boys won their matches and came through against opponents that were very consistent from the baseline.  Our next match is home Tuesday at 4:00 against Trinity Episcopal.  We will be playing on the Varsity courts across from the dorms.

Branson Chase was down 7-1 but didn't quit and came back to win 9-7.  Nice effort Branson!
