Woodberry at Collegiate

The boys played hard yesterday on a beautiful afternoon for tennis.  Unforced errors and too much aggression without sufficient margin did not help against a very consistent Collegiate Team.  I was happy as our guys continue to hit out on the ball and work on their approaches from Zones 2 and 3.  Our next match is Saturday afternoon at home.

Charles Purrington and Jake Fain won their singles matches yesterday.  Michael Deng and TaeMin Kim won in Doubles.

Competetive Match vs. St. Christophers

4/18/15

We new the match at St. Christopher's on Friday would be very competitive.  We came out on top against them here at Woodberry two weeks ago 5-4.  Yesterdays match was no different, as both teams played hard and all the matches were close.  St. Christopher's came out on top this time with both teams well mannered and the boys representing their schools to the highest degree.  I was very proud as several parents and coaches complimented our Team's attitude and demeanor on the court.

The boys are improving so much!  The good players that started the season are improving their skills and techniques, and are adding pace and consistency to their strokes.  It thrills me that the beginner players are now fully stroking the ball and rallying with each other and enjoying the game, both competitively and just having fun playing the game.
